Welcome to the Cory The Bike Fixer Blog! And now, here's a blog about Jared's Bike!
Jared is our shoppe manager, one of the tallest and most bike-knowledgeable people in the place. He also pedals himself a sweet ride, the 2012 Kona Honzo . It's an all-mountain shredding machine, or as Jared calls it, "My Big Blue".
Jared's not about to ride just any bike; I mean, he WILL, but this bike is his main meat, and it's a one of a kind. It's a 29'er, but the rear triangle is super short. To get the shorter triangle, Kona has softly curved the seat tube, which gives the Honzo a unique profile.
With the shorter triangle the bike climbs like a dream on hills, trails, and other vertically rising upward slopes, which is great for Jared, who tires easily. And since the back is so short, the front comes up real easy and he can bunny hop it like 26 inch. Jared's Honzo also has a non-stock Rock Shox Reverb Dropper seat post, and there's a button on the handlebars that will raise and lower the seat to suit every riding situation he encounters.
Stop in to the shop and ask Jared about his bike the next time you're on the East Side, he'll totally do some sweet jumps for you.
