Bikes I'm riding
Custom Dragon Team - My fat tire road bike with 26x2.6 Schwalbe Big Apple tires.

Fast Eddie - This is a 2012 Kona Major Jake carbon cyclocross frame, custom painted and decaled to honor pool player “Fast Eddie Felson”, played by Paul Newman (my personal hero). It is my fastest bike yet!

2010 Jamis Endura Sport - This is my “Coupe DeVille”. A carbon frame that supports an ultra light front rack and rear rack and 700x32 tires is rare. Jamis makes the best one! This is my favorite ride for my 1 hour commute and my long day trips.

Custom Hand Built “Matt Kaminecki” Single Speed - White and lime accents on a racing green paint job and a diverse collection of new and retro parts make this the perfect hopping around the East Side pleasure bike. I love the Mary Poppins bars!

The Surly Moonlander - 5 inch tires! Wow! My slowest, most adventurous and most fun rider. Riding off road on this is more fun and easy than a regular mountain bike. Riding on the sand and on the beach is the best way to make my 47 year old self feel 12 again.

1969 Schwinn Corvette - Customized Pee Wee Herman bike all the way. Horns, bells, mirrors, fenders, racks and all that retro stuff. It weighs over 50 pounds, but what fun to ride!

Custom Kona Dew Drop - I’ve owned this frame for a long time with several different builds on it. Right now it’s set up as my winter commuter.

Calfee Tetra Pro - The same frame that Greg Lemond won the Tour de France on in 1994. Equipped with my favorite Sram Red components and Rolf Elan wheels, it is my lightest road bike. I climbed my first mountain in the Andes on it and I’ll have it forever.

Dream bike trip
I would like to spend a year riding to the 7 magnetic power spots of the world culminating with vibrating into the next dimension and transcending matter altogether!

Favorite thing about working at Cory's
Watching the revolution out of a petroleum based society begin with every customer!

Why I ride my bike
It makes me feel good! After riding I feel more creative, more active, oxygenated and fully un-wound. I have my best moments of clarity while I am riding.

What I do at the shop
Of course, I do a little of everything. My most important task these days is to guide the flow of energy and traffic in the shop. I'm always there for Jared when he needs a cash advance.

Bikes I'm riding
Kona Cadabra 26” wheel full suspention -I use this bike everywhere. From the John Muir trails to the stairways of the city. It goes everywhere.

Lemond Nevada City - Reynolds 853 Steel Road Bike Custom Build -I converted this late 90s road frame into my commuter that I can feel comfortable locking anywhere. The frame is made of Reynolds 853; a blend of steel that makes bikers drool. It’s light, stiff, fast and comfortable. A perfect package.

Giant XTC 29er -I probably use this bike the least out of my collection. Am I scared to break it because every last component is made of carbon? Heck no! This 23 pound monster can take anything I throw at it. I reserve it for the days that require me to be extra fast on the trail.

Atomlab -This bike is covered in bits of foam from the pit at Ray’s where I try my best at getting rad with Aristotle and Will. Also, the pedals on this guy hate my shins.

Silly Bike -This bike is stupid, but hilarious. Super wid mustache bars and a Sturmey 3 speed laced to Velocity wood grain? Yes please! Also, I have to tighten the headset with my hand every 3 miles because I think it’s funnier than pressing a new one.

Soon? - Salsa Ti Fargo. Ti something. Give me a minute... I ran out of money!

The Great Divide. (Banaff Canada to Antelope Wells New Mexico) A mountain bike ride that puts you in almost every weather condition and a total of 200,000 feet of elevation gain... Wait, why do I want to do this? Go get your Dad a beer.

Bikes I'm riding
Main Squeeze:::Fully Customized '09 Jamis Sputnik Artified 51x16 single speed.  Looks like no other.
Kona Unit for falling over in the muddy woods
'01 Klein Aura XV for pure speed
75cm Sanwa Chromo 10 Speed
Surly L.H.T. for loaded touring when Will lets me
Dream bike trip
A neverending globe-spanning self-supported sojourn with friends joining for stints now and then. Or France. Really anywhere and anytime I can manage to pedal away is an ongoing dream.  My three month 2000mile ride down the west coast this last fall put the hook in me.  Touring is where it's at!
Favorite thing about working at Cory's
The fact I’m literally surrounded by the greatest machine invented on a daily basis. The customers. Both the loyal regulars and 1st timers. The satisfaction that comes from helping awaken or stoking the embers of the love of riding in the fine folks that I help. Oh yeah, the people I work with are quite a bunch. Couldn’t ask for better.
Why I ride my bike
Going all the way back to when I was a lad of four and the day my dad taught me how to ride and had to chase me down because I didn’t want to stop, even if it meant a spanking for disobeying, the two-wheeled thing has spoken to me in a way nothing else has. Number one reason has to be the pure joy felt while flying through the air on two tiny patches of rubber under your own power. The freedom, environmental impact, camaraderie & culture, therapeutic effect, simple efficiency, and on and on don’t hurt either. The adrenaline rush while zig-zagging through rush hour traffic with grace and brute strength is a tonic that cures ills.  It’s just the best, that’s all.
What I do at the shop
I guide customers through the sometimes daunting process of choosing a new steed with genuine care and unending devotion to the satisfaction of their needs and wants. No sleazy salesmanship for me; integrity over greed here. I sneak into the service department now and then to get my wrenching fix and filthy hands. Prettying up the joint with an aesthetic eye. Broadcasting some killer background muzak is a constant quest as well.  I pet all the friendly canines [bring in your dogs, people!] and am the car rack installation specialist. To sum up, I bring da ruckus right.

Bikes I'm riding
Ragley Blue Pig All Mountain Steel Hardtail - This is my do everything mountain bike with a 150mm Rock Shock Sektor fork, crank brothers dropper post and a 1x10 drivetrain by Sram.

Soma Double Cross Steel Commuter - This thing is a hodge podge with a Salsa Vaya fork, front disc brake, PDW front rack and Salsa rear rack. I rock 35c tires for MKE streets and a sram 1x10 drivetrain.

Rocky Mountain Flow Aluminum DJ - It jumps well.

Dream bike trip
My dream bike trip would be a 2 week long trip to Vancouver BC to ride whistler and the north shore. I went there 2 years ago and only scratched the surface of what there is to offer.

Favorite thing about working at Cory's
The best part about working at Cory’s is all the other rad guys who work there. We all ride bikes, but each of us is into something different. There is a pretty sweet cross sampling of the cycling community at Cory’s and it gives the place a dynamic vibe.

Why I ride my bike
I ride my bike for all the cliche reasons. I like the experience and the way it rids me of stress. I use my bike to get around the city. Riding my bike has taken me all over the country and has given me the opportunity to see new places and see old places in new ways.

What I do at the shop
My current position at the shop is working the sales floor. Last year I worked as a back up mechanic, mostly getting used bikes ready to be sold. I mostly ride mountain bikes, so i’m often willing to lend a hand when questions come up about new products or set up and such. This year I hope to get more people pumped about the exciting developments coming to the Milwaukee mountain bike scene and hopefully get a few folks out for some trail riding.

Bikes I'm riding
1984 Trek 620 and 1995 LeMond Zürich. Both made here in Wisconsin.

Dream bike trip
All of the coasts of all the Great Lakes and The Moon.

Favorite thing about working at Cory's
Everyone who works here is pretty awesome, the regulars and the occasional dog, friend showers and the occasional beautiful girl on a bike.

Why I ride my bike
My bike takes me places nothing else can.

What I do at the shop
I got hired on at Cory's last year to set up new bikes. Shortly thereafter, I began managing the rental department. My other duties included unpacking shipments, calling customers to let them know their specail orders have arrived and working on the sales floor. This year I'll be the rentals manager and also be on the sales floor. I make sure that when dogs come into the shop they get a treat and have water; best part of the job!

Sunday Muder C - For Jumping and bar cruising.

Surly Steamroller - Commuter

Surly Long Haul Trucker - This bike has taken me all around the country!

Custom FBM Frame with Kink componentry

Dream bike trip
Any trip where I see a lot of the world. A debaucherous BMX trip or a tour with loved ones.

Favorite thing about working at Cory's
Helping people get psyched about cycling, any style. Just get em pumped about the ride. The awesome people I work with definitely doesn't hurt either.

Why I ride my bike
Because it is awesome! I don’t like driving. My bike takes me places most people don’t usually go and to spots most don’t even see. Dodging traffic, flying down country roads or sessioning a spot - it’s just so awesome.

What I do at the shop
I am a shift service manager. I perform tune assessments and tune ups and all around bicycle maintenance for customers. Sweeping nightly definitely falls into it as well. Also, I loan $20 to Jared when needed.

Lucas M • 25 • AKA: Mace

Bikes I'm riding
2012 Raleigh Rush Hour Pro - This is my first bike that I built up from scratch myself. The frame is made of super light aluminum. American Classic 420 track wheelset, Sram Omnium crankset, Interlock half link chain, Ritchey WCS stem and seatpost, Vision bullhorn bars, Bontrager carbon saddle. I keep the drivetrain gear ratio hard and fast at 48x13. This is my track bike / fixie. No brakes. Can’t stop, don’t want to.

2011 Surly Cross Check - This is my work bike. I moonlight as a bicycle food courier for Flavor Cycle. I bought this bike from Cory as a complete and have made countless changes to it. It came as a 2x9, I converted it into a single speed for a while then turned it into a 3x9. Removed the drop bars, installed a riser stem and flat bars with thumb shifters. The main component of the bicycle that makes it my work bike is the Wald front rack. It’s big enough to carry a whole pile of pizzas to your mouth! This summer I’ll be riding it to Chicago with some friends of mine so It’ll probably get its drop bars back.

2008 Jamis Quest - This is my road bike that I haven’t modified very much at all since buying it. My goal for 2013 is to finally build up an awesome wheelset for this bike; hopefully before the RiverWest24 this year.

Tall Bike - I found two old steel Trek road bikes and welded one on top of the other. It’s really dangerous but it’s so much fun riding my bike above cars on the road! All the components on this monster are found or used. I might invest some money into it this summer to make it a little safer, but I doubt it.

Dream bike trip
I would really love to ride the whole valley of The Grand Canyon on a self supported tour with no money and one friend. Relying on the kindness of strangers, trading work for food and dumpster diving to survive. Going cyclocross racing through the Badlands in South Dakota would be super amazing.

Favorite thing about working at Cory's
If I can’t be on a bike riding it, I want to be on a bike stand fixing it. On beautiful summer days while I’m wrenching on a bike, I can’t wait to get it all fixed and get out in the sunshine for a test ride. On the particularly gorgeous days, I probably take longer test rides than I should.

Why I ride my bike
I get asked this question all the time by people in elevators when I’m delivering food. Riding a bike just makes so much more sense than any other form of transportation. Riding my bike keeps me healthy and in shape, gets me where I’m going quickly, allows me to relax, saves me money, makes me money, frees me from the dependence of gasoline, lets me travel with zero emissions, shows me parts of the city that I wouldn’t see otherwise and gives me strong friendships with other cyclists in the community. I can also drink as much as I want and get on my bike and go home. I go grocery shopping with my bike all the time. I just load up my panniers and backpack and roll. The last time I moved apartments, I did it by bike!

What I do at the shop
I fix your bikes. I’m the rookie mechanic here at the shop so I try to learn as much as I can from the other seasoned wrenches. I ask Jared a lot of questions and probably annoy him pretty often. Cory likes to call me his “Resident Hipster”. I help Derrick out now and then assembling new bikes. I give Jared back massages and tell him that he’s special.

Bikes I'm riding
2012 Kona Rove, green and speedy, my everyday commuter, tough enough to tour with (once the time comes)

2008 Jamis Dragon Comp 26" hardtail mountain bike. Super fun to haul ass down the river trails with.

2011 Kona Dew Plus - used to be my everyday commuter, but now it's my winter/grocery getter.

Last but not least, my 20.6 Red Kink Issue BMX bike. My pride and joy. It's as dialed as it's ever been thanks to working at Cory's!

Dream bike trip
I'd love to eventually bring my BMX bike and a few close friends on a trip to Barcelona. It's the BMX mecca of the world! And maybe taking an off-road adventure in some canyons somewhere. That would rule.

Favorite thing about working at Cory's
It's awesome working with such a cool group of people who are just as passionate about riding bikes as I am.

Why I ride my bike
It's been my main source of fun since I was 13 and there's no stopping any time soon. Along with it being my main mode of transportation, getting interested in more types of riding is only making me appreciate bikes more!

What I do at the shop
I fix bikes! I help change flats, and put shiny new bikes together to be put on the showroom floor. Mainly I go to the pantry next door and get Jared his milk. Jared loves his milk.
